Unpark CPU app that can save system battery power by putting CPU cores to sleep or 'park' them.
CPU Unpark is a small and lightweight system application that allows owners of Windows PC to control aspects of their CPU usage by modifying the CPU parking index.
The main user interface of the application is pretty basic, providing you with a graphic display of CPU Core Parking while displaying the enabled and 'parked' cores. The next panel in the application provides access to the system power plan and the power state such as plugged-in or on battery.
The main setting of CPU Unpark is the ability to change the core parking index by choosing which percentage of the CPU's cores should be enabled with a slider. This is a great utility to manage the power usage of the system.
By modifying how many CPU cores are being used, the system can seriously preserve battery power and in cases where battery power isn't an issue, be used to regulate the temperature of the system.
With CPU Unpark, users can easily control how many cores are being used thereby reducing energy consumption and modifying the amount of battery power a system is burning through.
Compatibility and License
CPU Unpark is provided under a freeware license on Windows from Windows tweaking software with no restrictions on usage. Download and installation of this PC software is free and 1.0.1.0 is the latest version last time we checked.
What version of Windows can CPU Unpark run on?
CPU Unpark can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit downloads.
